Biography

Dr. Westra works with area businesses to maintain and improve employee health. Dr. Westra is board-certified in Internal and Occupational Medicine and has experience with preventive health and travel-related illnesses. Prior to joining Affinity Occupation Health, Dr. Westra served as the Associate Medical Director and Occupational Medical Director at Kimberly Clark. He has given a number of talks on sleep deprivation, jet lag, smoking cessation, retirement health issues, health concerns in times of economic stress, executive health and pandemic preparation. He has been published on a variety of topics including: prostate cancer screening, monoclonal antibodies in acute leukemia and lymphoma, and a method of stepwise surgical excision. Dr. Westra received his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and holds a master’s degree in Public Health from West Virginia University.
