Rehabilitation Services plays an integral role in treating arthritis and rheumatology patients.
Arthritis Treatment Program
A rheumatology nurse, physical therapist and occupational therapist are available at Mercy Oakwood Medical Building to provide a treatment program for each client’s specific needs. Treatment usually involves exercise, pain control, education on self-management, diet and nutrition, joint protection and community resources.
Warm Water Pool Exercise
People with arthritis will benefit from low-impact warm water pool exercises available at St. Elizabeth Hospital. These exercises help with cardiovascular conditioning, endurance and muscular and joint mobility. Classes are available at a variety of times. This is a self-pay program.
