Nutrition

Feeding your body the proper nutrients is important to your health, especially when you have an illness.

The Affinity Diabetes, Nutrition and Endocrine Center offers nutrition counseling to people with a wide range of conditions and diseases. If your primary care doctor feels you could benefit from nutrition counseling, he or she can refer you to one of the center’s registered dietitians by calling (920) 727-4395.

We’ll talk with you to learn more about your medical diagnosis and health goals. Then we’ll do a personal needs assessment and give you appropriate nutrition counseling.

For more information about nutrition counseling through Affinity Health System, call Affinity NurseDirect at 1-800-362-9900.

HUGS Program

You count, calories don’t!

If you always seem to be on a diet, or you’re at war with your body by losing and regaining weight frequently, Affinity’s HUGS program can help.

In the eight-week HUGS – You Count, Calories Don’t program, registered dietitians help you rid yourself of the diet mentality and change the way you look at food and weight. In a small-group setting, men and women learn how to break the diet cycle and rebuild a confident new lifestyle.

The course fee of $135 includes a guidebook, workbook, post-program book and online follow-up support. Network Health Plan members who attend all eight sessions are eligible for reimbursement. For an additional $30, a personal trainer can arrange group exercise sessions twice a week for the length of the program.

For more information or to register for HUGS, please call Affinity NurseDirect at 1-800-362-9900.
