APPLETON, Wis. – Nearly $160,000 in grants has been awarded internally by the St. Elizabeth Hospital Community Foundation.
“The foundation plays an important role in helping to fund programs, services and capital needs that would otherwise be unavailable to our patients,” said Tonya Dedering, executive director of the St. Elizabeth Hospital Community Foundation. “With strong donor support, we’re proud to be able to help St. Elizabeth, Calumet Medical Center and Affinity’s Fox Cities clinics thrive.”
A total of 25 grants were awarded, including funding for:
- A digital scale for the Madison Center OB-GYN department
- Calumet Medical Center’s Progressive Agriculture Safety Day
- A dual compartment blanket/fluid warming cabinet for the Calumet Medical Center surgery department
- Nutrition classes for the behavioral health department
- Two bariatric lift chairs
- Clinical laboratory-centrifuge
- Health and wellness grant for the behavioral health department
The foundation awarded $30,000 in grants to Affinity nursing for basic patient needs such as medication, transportation home, clothing, diapers and personal care items and over $10,000 for the Calumet Medical Center Heart Clinic cardiac rehabilitation.
“In this economic climate, there is an even greater need for project funding,” says Dedering. “Donor investments play a key role in allowing Affinity Health System to provide quality, personalized care to all patients.”
The St. Elizabeth Hospital Community Foundation is dedicated to living out the healing ministry of Christ with a special emphasis on those in need, by generating, stewarding and distributing funds to enhance the quality of Affinity Health System’s services and programs, and other community health care initiatives in Outagamie and Calumet counties, and northern Winnebago County.
