Mercy Health Foundation: Frequently Asked Questions

How does Mercy Health Foundation relate to Mercy Medical Center and Affinity Health System?

Mercy Health Foundation and Mercy Medical Center are both members of Affinity Health System. Mercy Health Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization governed by a local board of trustees and its own bylaws. Donations enhance Mercy Medical Center health programs serving Oshkosh, Appleton, the Fox Cities and surrounding communities.

Can I decide where my gift will go?

Absolutely!  You may direct contributions to support Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, a specific program or project, a community health area of personal interest or a region-wide program or project of Affinity Health System. Foundation trustees can help you identify and suggest where charitable support is needed most.

I/we can't afford a large endowment contribution.  How can I/we make a smaller gift that will keep on giving?

You may direct a gift of any size to existing special-use endowment funds or to the unrestricted/general endowment. A donor may also set up a sequence of contributions to reach the minimum required for a permanent endowment fund. When $25,000 accumulates, the donor can establish a permanently named fund that will generate interest income each year to support Mercy Medical Center or other health programs.
